In Cozyville, there lived a fearless little mitten named Max.
But Max had one tiny problem…
He was always losing his partner.
Left hand? Gone. Vanished. Missing like a mystery novel.
Max blamed everything:
“The wardrobe ate him!”
“The cat kidnapped him!”
“A snowman borrowed him!” (That last one felt suspiciously true.)
His owner, a little girl named Nora, would giggle as Max puffed up in frustration.
“I’m a pair, Nora! A team! How can I keep you warm if my partner runs away every winter?!”
One frosty morning, as Nora prepared for school, Max spotted something under the bed…
A tiny… familiar… thumb-shape…
It was Lefty. Dusty. Sleepy. And definitely not kidnapped.
Max squealed, “THERE YOU ARE!”
Lefty yawned. “I wasn’t lost… I was napping.”
Max froze. A mitten. Taking a nap. In winter.
He exploded: “WE WORK IN WINTER! WHO NAPS IN WINTER?!”
Lefty blinked. “Uh… bears?”
Max had no comeback.
Nora scooped them both up, slid them onto her hands, and they instantly warmed up like magic.
Max grumbled,
Lefty mumbled,
and Nora smiled.
Even if they argued…even if one wandered off…they were warmest together.
💛 Moral:
Even perfect pairs can get separated, what matters is they always find their way back.
